Hasa-Cide Bottle HASA-CIDE is used to control the growth of algae in swimming pools. HASA-CIDE is compatible with those chemicals normally used to treat pools and is effective at both acid and alkaline pH. HASA-CIDE is especially effective in pools treated with chlorine chemicals and may reduce the amount of those chemicals normally required.

According to EPA: “This product is currently classified as a ‘Group D’ (inadequate evidence) carcinogen. Negative results were observed in a mouse carcinogenicity study, but in a rat chronic toxicity/carcinogenicity study, increases in the incidence of thyroid C-cell adenomas were observed in female rats at doses of 300 and 900 mg/kg/day. The increase in thyroid C-cell adenoma was statistically significant at 300 mg/kg/day.”
